Extensive WW2-period document and ID grouping for university student Hans Sponagel (born in January 1922), who studied chemistry at the prestigious Heidelberg University. Consists of 13 individual items, which Includes:

-August 1940 dated Ruprecht Karl University Heidelberg Studienbuch. The booklet is filled out and stamped by the university, identifying Sponagel as a chemistry student. 14 double-sided pages, used to record payment of tuition. Apart from the identification page, the booklet is unfilled. In excellent, near mint condition. Rare Third Reich era ID booklet for a prestigious German university. I’ve only come across this item in reference books / websites. 

-December 1940 University of Heidelberg ID card, stamped the university’s secretariat. 

-Autumn 1940 dated letter and envelope from the University of Heidelberg concerning Herr Sponagel’s military deferment. There is also an August 1940 dated letter from the local Wehrmacht recruiting authorities specifying that Sponagel would not be called up to service at that time. 

-October 1943 dated letter stating that Obergefreiter Sponagel was missing in action and several of his personal effects were being returned. The Feldpostnumber indicates that he was serving with Artillerie Regiment 332, which was fighting in Southern Russia throughout much of 1943. 

-February 1940 dated Kennkarte ID card, appropriately stamped by the local police authorities. It states that Sponagel was a resident of the city of Mannheim, Germany. 

-1939-40 High School report card (Reifezeugnis), Sponagel has pretty decent grades. Comes with a small 1939 dated swimming certificate (Schwimmzeugnis) and a 1937 dated letter from the high school.

-Hans Sponagel’s birth certificate (Geburtsurkunde) and his parents' marriage certificate (Heiratsurkunde). They were issued in February 1940. 

-Undated photographic postcard of Hans Sponagel.
