WW2 Heer photo album, vehicle repair unit - 120 photos
Large, hardcover, WW2-era German Army photo album, measuring around 21.5cm x 32cm. It contains 22 double-sided pages with 120 photos glued on to them (several pages are blank and a few of the photos have been removed at some point). Written inscriptions can be found on all the pages that have photos. They chronicle a soldier’s military service from around 1938/39 to circa 1941. He appears to have served with a unit that specialized in repairing motorized vehicles, as several inscriptions make references to this and several photos show workshops and damaged vehicles. The photos were taken at various garrison locations in Germany, in occupied France and in Brest-Litovsk (Eastern Front). Quite a few interesting photos featuring artillery pieces, the construction of a massive military repair station in occupied Poland (gearing up for the invasion of the USSR), various Heer officers and inspectors, cavorting with female Wehrmacht staff members while on leave, photo of a Coca-Cola sign in a cafe, etc. Interesting album for a soldier working in a logistics / repair unit.
