WW2 Feldpost letter - Sept 1942, Don River / Stalingrad
Couldn't load pickup availability
September 14th 1942 dated Feldpost letter written somewhere in a position along the river Don, deep in Southern Russia. The script is difficult to read (it’s not 100% legible to me), but the soldier clearly mentions traveling through Bryansk, Orel, Kursk and Voronezh. He makes reference to Stalingrad and the Caucasus region (including the city of Astrakhan). The letter could be quite interesting if properly translated in full. The Feldpost number appears to be 26969, which can be attributed to a motorized transport unit that served in Southern Russia. Signed by a soldier by the name of Georg Gallitz. Comes with a fragile letter that appears to have been sent to Gallitz in March 1944. See photos for details.
