WW2 period German “Death Card”, double-pannel, for Johann Fischer, a sergeant (Feldwebel) in an infantry regiment. He was awarded the War Merit Cross with Swords (Kriegsverdienstkreuzes mit Schwertern, presumably 1st class). He was badly wounded on July 4th 1942 in Russia and died in a field hospital a few days later on July 12th.
