WW2 period German “Death Card”, single-pannel, for Michael Grandl, an Obergefreiter in a combat engineer squad (Pion.-Zug). He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2), the Infantry Assault Badge (Inf. Sturmabz.) and the Eastern Front Campaign medal (Ostmed.). He was killed on July 28th 1943, south of the Russian city of Orel.
