WW2 period German “Death Card”, single-pannel, for Johann Hafner, an Obergefreiter in a combat engineer battalion (Pionier-Batl.). He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2), the Eastern Front Campaign medal (Ostmedaille) and the Wound Badge in Silver (Silbernen Verwundeten Abzeichen). He died on January 11th 1944, on the Eastern Front, after having fought on multiple fronts over 4 years of military service.
