2nd edition Wehrpass issued to Walther Pockelmann, from the Braunschweig area of Germany. Born in November 1898, he was called up for military service in early 1938. He had previously fought in WW1, from January 1917 to January 1919. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2) and Hindenburg Cross for his WW1 service. During WW2 he served with “1. Bau Kompanie 248” from August 1939 to January 1940 (the service that is documented in the Wehrpass), which was a support unit (construction / engineer unit) which worked closely with the RAD. He was trained to use the standard Gewehr 98k rifle. Comes with a protective case that is in very good condition, clean and undamaged. All entries and stamps have been photographed. Nice Wehrpass for a decorated WW1 veteran.
