Wehrpass - Ruhr region coal miner
2nd edition Wehrpass issued to Friedrich Laubert, a resident of the city of Bottrop, Germany. Born in April 1900, in Zwickau, his employment is listed as miner (Bergmann). The Wehrpass was issued in February 1938. He appears to have been considered fit for military service, but according to the entries he wasn’t called up to serve, likely due to his employment, since coal production was important for industrial production. Comes with a post-WW2 Arbeits-Pass employment card that states that Laubert worked as a coal miner in the large “Prosper” coal mine in Bottrop. The card has employment entries that indicate that he worked at the mine from late 1936, tracing his work history to 1948.
The Wehrpass is in very good condition, the Hakenkreuz on the front cover has been partly “de-nazified”, the stamps in the Wehrpass have not been “de-nazified”. See photos for details.
