2nd edition Wehrpass issued to Wilhelm Vierhaus, from Duisburg (but may have been living in Munich during the war). Born in 1896, he served with Reserve Infanterie Regiment 57 during WW1 (from October 1915 to September 1919). He was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class, 2nd Class and the Wound Badge. His regiment saw extensive action in France and Belgium, particularly during the Battle of Verdun in 1916.

He was called up to serve in December 1944, serving with an administrative unit based in Munich, namely the Verwaltungstruppen Ersatz und Ausbildungs Abteilung 2, a recruiting and administrative unit associated with two infantry divisions (157th and the 467th). He continued to serve with this unit, in Munich, until the end of the war, in May 1945. He held the rank of Feldwebel (Sergeant). Entries and stamps indicate that he underwent anti-espionage training, as well as his uniform size and blood group.

Comes with two additional documents: March 1945 dated service assessment document (Beurteilung) and May 1945 Allied occupation pass allowing Vierhaus entry to the city hall building.

***Unfortunately the first page of the Wehrpass is missing. This page would normally have his photo attached, however it comes with a very nice studio photo of Vierhaus in his Feldwebel uniform (his shoulder straps indicate his rank) and wearing his Iron Cross 1st Class from WW1.
