2nd edition Wehrpass, issued to Eugen Wagner, from the region of Offenburg, Germany. He was born in September 1920 and worked as merchant / salesman (Kaufmann). He was called up for military service in July 1939. He held a driver’s license (Führerschein Klasse IV), the HJ sports badge (HJ Leistungsabzeichen) and the DRL sports badge (Deutsches Reichssportabzeichen). He began his military service in October 1940, being inducted into a Machine gun battalion. He was trained to use the Gewehr 98k rifle, the MG34 machine gun and the Pistole 08. He appears to have had some sort of specific machine gun training that I can’t quite make out. He held the rank of Gefreiter and served extensively with various infantry / MG units from 1940 to September 1944. He mostly served with Infanterie Regiment 460, which was part of the 260th Infantry Division. He was wounded multiple times, quite a few stays in the field hospital, including in the thigh and the neck. He was awarded the wound badges in both black and silver (Verwundeten abzeichen im Schwarz und Silber).

His battle service isn’t specifically stated (the entry states that he served on the Eastern Front), but his service with Infantry Regiment 460 during this time period indicates that he saw action in Ukraine in 1941 (Battle of Kiev), later being deployed in the Battle for Moscow and seeing heavy action during the defensive battles around Moscow in 1941-42 (his regiment was surrounded and had to fight their way out, incurring very heavy casualties). He was released from military service in September 1944, due to his war wounds, and given his departure payment of 50 Reichsmarks. His blood type and uniform size are listed. All entries and stamps have been photographed. Comes with a protective Wehrpass case, which is in very good condition (see photos).
