Saarkampf Karikaturen aus ‘Der Rufer im Warndt’, softcover German book of caricatures. 64 pages of text and images that detail the process of Germany regaining control of the Saarland region, which had been occupied by Allied (mainly French) troops from the end of WW1 to the plebiscite in 1935. The caricatures essentially mock France and its military, the Western Allies, socialists, jews and Germans who collaborated with the French occupiers or opposed the Nazis. Comes with a 1932 printed caricature magazine, “Die Brennessel”, which is mocking the short-lived Franz von Papen government. Both show a fair amount of age and wear. See photos for details.
