Rare, hardcover, Orden und Ehrenzeichen im Dritten Reich, German language reference book. This is a 1st edition, 1939 printed, copy with its original dustjacket. Written by Dr. Heinrich Doehle, the ministerial director of an office affiliated with the Reich Chancellor. 88 pages of text and images detailing the various military and civilian awards / medals that were being issued in Germany in 1939. Unfortunately the dustjacket is partial, in two sections (spin missing), but the front cover displays nicely. Hard to come by in any condition,  later editions have colourized images and a larger variety of medals shown, but this 1st edition version is rare. The book’s spine is solid, no missing pages, the reverse cover has a couple of “dings”. Very interesting item, both as a collectible and for research / reference purposes. This is a pretty authoritative reference for all Third Reich awards created from 1933 to 1939. Purchased in Germany a few years back, has spent some time in my personal collection.
