Luftwaffe Marksmanship 3rd Grade award certificate - Bomber unit member

WW2-period, Luftwaffe award certificate for the Marksmanship badge in the 3rd Grade (Besitz Zeugnis, Schützenabzeichen 3. Stufe). Awarded to Unteroffizier Heidt, an NCO serving with the “4. / Aufklärungsgruppe 22”, on October 1st 1939. He earned this award (which was no longer issued by early 1941) by completing marksmanship exercises using the Gewehr 98k standard issue rifle.

His Luftwaffe unit was based at the time at an airbase in Kassel-Rothwesten. This unit was equipped with Ju-88 bombers, as well as Do 17 bombers and the iconic Me-109 fighter aircraft. It fought in France, the Balkans and extensively in the Soviet Union. Very nicely and clearly unit stamped and signed by a Hauptmann, serving as NCO Heidt’s squadron commander. In good condition, little edge wear and no staining or damage, no fold lines. Displays beautifully, nice unit provenance on this item. Fairly large certificate, measuring 29.5cm x 25.5cm.
