Arbeitsbuch - Austrian woman, Steyr factory and Flak Helper

2nd edition Arbeitsbuch, issued to Herta Schlägl, a woman from the Steyr region of Austria. Born in December 1922, she was issued her Arbeitsbuch in March 1939 as a 16 year old. Her Arbeitsbuch stands out for 2 reasons. Firstly, she was employed by the Steyr-Daimler-Puch company, at their weapons factory in Steyr (Kraftfahrzeug-Kugellager und Waffenfabrik, Motor Vehicle, ball bearing and weapons plant). She performed various roles in this facility from June 1940 to October 1942 (apprentice, roller bearing worker, assembly line worker, etc). Secondly, the entries and stamps further state that she served as Luftwaffe Flak helper (Flakhelferin), serving with Schw. Flak. Ers. Abt. 38 Linz, a heavy guns anti-aircraft detachment that was deployed to protect the Austrian city of Linz. She served with this Flak unit from December 1942 to late August 1943. Interesting item, anything related to female flak helpers is relatively rare.
