WW1 period German Soldbuch issued to Johannes Henseler, who held the rank of Garde Füsilier. Henseler was born in July 1897, in Koblenz. He joined the Ersatz Battalion Garde Füsilier Regiment in August 1916, at their depot / training facility in Berlin. This is an elite regiment whose officers were generally recruited from the nobility. They also served as the honour guard at the Wache monument on the Unter den Linden in Berlin. Standard entries indicating Füsilier Henseler’s wages, immunization record, equipment and uniform articles issued to him, hospital stays, time spent on leave, etc. Nearly all entries have been photographed here. The Soldbuch is in fairly rough condition, the reverse cover has nearly come loose. The pages appear to be all present, but show a good amount of wear and age (though overall the entries and stamps are fairly legible). Comes with a July 1945, post-WW2, Allied occupation travel pass, allowing Henseler to “Travel home and help with farming”.
