1st edition Wehrpass for Unteroffizier Martin Preuss. He joined the Heer in 1934 and served with the 222 Infanterie Regiment from August 1939 to his death in May 1942. The 222nd regiment was a unit serving with the 75 Infanterie division, part of the (in)famous 6th Army. He fought in the campaign in France (1940), followed by the campaign in the East, participating in the Battle of Kiev in September 1941 (his division occupied Kiev after the battle). During combat in the USSR he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2) and the Wound Badge in Black. He died in a hospital (Lazarett) on May 18th 1942. He is buried in a German military cemetery located near Kharkov, Ukraine. Nearly all entries are photographed above. Interesting and collectible Wehrpass for a hardened, decorated, veteran NCO who served with the tragically famous 6th Army. Comes with a printout detailing his place of burial.
