1st edition Wehrpass issued to Hermann Kofelitz, in late June 1937. He was born in the city of Wiesbaden in May 1896 and worked as a merchant (Kaufmann). The entries state that he served during WW1 from November 1915 to November 1919. He served with the different infantry regiments, namely Infanterie Regiment 80, Infanterie Regiment 81 and Infanterie Regiment 118. It’s not specified where he fought, but he may have served on both the Western and Eastern Fronts, as a couple of these regiments fought on both fronts. He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class (EK2), the Wound Badge in Black (Verw. Abz. Schwarz), the Hindenburg Cross service medal and an unidentified fourth medal. He was eligible for military service from 1937 to 1940, but doesn’t appear to have been called up.
Comes with a Wehrpass Notiz document, dated September 1939 and a leaflet (Merkblatt) on regulations for soldiers on leave during wartime. The Wehrpass and documents are all in very good condition.
