Small, almost pocket-sized, hardcover photo album. The album measures around 12cm x 8.5cm (3.5cm thick) and contains 33 period photos. An emblem of some kind was affixed to the front cover, but has been removed at some point. An inscription is written on the reverse side of the front cover, I haven't been able to translate the text but "1941" is clearly written. Possibly kept by a Luftwaffe soldier, as most German troops shown in the photos are Luftwaffe and the same Luftwaffe member appears in several of them. Possibly a memento of his time serving in Romania, circa 1941-42.

The photos depict 2 ceremonies held in Bucharest, Romania. Field Marshal Wilhelm List, who held the position of Commander in Chief South-East (German occupied Balkans region) from spring 1941 to the summer of 1942, is clearly visible in 3 photos. Beautiful photo of List holding his Field Marshal's baton in the air, striking image. Accompanying List is Conducator Ion Antonescu (Field Marshal and Prime Minister / dictator of Romania). Antonescu is visible in 3 photos (one appears to show his wife). The young King Michael of Romania can be clearly seen in 3 photos, including one close-up shot of him standing next to Antonescu. Mihai Antonescu, the Romanian foreign minister and propaganda minister, can be seen in 1 photo next Field Marshal List. This parade (German troops, mainly Luftwaffe, can be seen marching alongside Romanian infantry) and ceremony is undated, though it clearly occurred between May 1941 and June / July 1942. Interesting figures appear on the parade stands in one photo (unidentified high ranking Luftwaffe general, a Slovak official, etc).

The 2nd event which is shown is a commemoration ceremony held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Bucharest (the Tomb itself is shown close-up in 1 photo and clearly identifiable). The German ambassador to Romania, Manfred von Killinger, can be seen in several photos, including a striking close-up image of him in dress uniform giving the "German salute". Various German officers and officials lay wreaths, along with their Romanian counterparts.

All photos which show military figures are shown here (20 photos show people), the remaining 13 photographs show landscapes / cityscapes that are presumably Romanian.

Rare item, it has some historical significance. Worthy of further research.
