Group of 11 Hitler Youth (HJ) sports event badges, issued between 1934 and 1943. Interesting shift in design, both in terms of materiel used and in aesthetic terms. The badges issued between 1935 and 1939 are all maker marked on the reverse, some examples visible her are "W. Redo Saarlautern", "Fr. Zimmermann, Stuttgart" and "AD. Baumeister, Lüdenscheid". The badges issued in 1934 were made of porcelain, those made between 1935 and 1939 were made of aluminium, while the badges produced between 1940 and 1942 were made of early plastic resin. The 1943 badges, two different variants exist (both shown here), were made of zinc. Participants in the 1944 events were issued a card rather than a badge (I've yet to acquire this card).
